There are items you can find that have the same effect, including dragon parts and starfire fragments, though these are quite rare. This means the blood moon is actually a good time to use valuable ingredients toward powerful recipes, as the resulting items will be even stronger. If you make food at a campfire during the phenomenon, a random bonus effect will be added to your recipe. The coming of a blood moon in Breath of the Wild isn’t all bad. Cooking During A Blood Moon Will Grant Food Bonus Stats That said keep your eyes on the sky and the hour to make certain you’re not leaving yourself vulnerable to an ambush. This is a clever way of linking game mechanics to story, explaining the kinds of enemy respawns standard to most RPGs. That’s right, all the baddies you’ve slain out in the field (i.e., outside of dungeons) will return to life during the blood moon. they respawn after a blood moon- so you can get an infinite amount of these, provided you can defeat them. Two-column layouts show more and are easier to use For example, on screens above 600dp, the notification shade, lockscreen, and other system surfaces use a new two-column layout to take advantage of the screen area. In 12L we’ve refined the UI on large screens across notifications, quick settings, lockscreen, overview, home screen, and more. With the preview, you can try the new large screen features, optimize your apps, and let us know your feedback. Today we're bringing you a developer preview of 12L, our upcoming feature drop that makes Android 12 even better on large screens. Previewing 12L: A feature drop for large screens Read on to see what’s new for large screens on Android! We also talked about changes we’re making to Google Play to help users discover your large-screen optimized apps more easily. So today at Android Dev Summit, we announced a feature drop for Android 12 that is purpose-built for large screens, we’re calling it 12L, along with new APIs, tools, and guidance to make it easier to build for large screens. With all of the momentum, we’re continuing to invest in making Android an even better OS on these devices, for users and developers. We’ve also seen Foldable devices on the rise, with year on year growth of over 265%! All told, there are over 250 million active large screen devices running Android. In just the last 12 months we’ve seen nearly 100 million new Android tablet activations–a 20% year-over-year growth, while ChromeOS, now the fastest growing desktop platform, grew by 92%. If you want to view and use two apps again, just repeat the split screen mode process to enable. There are over a quarter billion large screen devices running Android across tablets, foldables, and ChromeOS devices. And, in case, you swipe in the upwards direction you can view WhatsApp on full screen mode. if you swipe towards the bottom you can view YouTube on full screen mode. Let’s take the above image as an example, Here we have two apps open in split screen mode: 1) YouTube 2) WhatsApp. Depending on the direction you swipe, you can view either of the apps on full screen mode. In case of the landscape mode, you can swipe either on left or right side of the screen for the same. In case you are viewing two apps on portrait mode, you can swipe upwards or downwards to exit split screen. Press-and-hold the black line in the middle of your split screen. And not just Youtube, you can also try WhatsApp calling using this feature. You can even adjust the placement of the app by dragging and pinning it in suitable corner of the screen you wish to place it. This is how you can view Youtube app in the Picture in Picture (PIP) mode. While we chose to keep Google chrome the primary app, We have used the Picture-in- picture mode for YouTube. Here we have taken Google Chrome and Youtube App as an example. Tap on the small pill like button that’s exactly placed in between the two apps –>you will find four options: Home, Swap, Picture-in-picture and close –>Tap on the Picture in Picture Option. Here’s how you can enable Picture-in-picture mode on your Android devices.ģ. This particular feature can be enabled on both Android Oreo as well as Pie. This option is viable if you don’t want the other app to occupy much space on the screen. You can pin it to a corner of your smartphone’s screen while navigating through other apps and content on the main screen. Under this mode, you can watch a video or operate apps in a small window like view. There’s also an option called as Picture –in-picture mode. On doing so, you can automatically view two apps on your screen now. You can scroll through the apps on your smartphone and simply tap on it. What makes split screen mode even more convenient in Android Pie smartphones is that in case you have only one app open, Android Pie will directed you to the home screen. You can easily chat on WhatsApp and watch videos on YouTube at the same time. Here we took WhatsApp as an example for second app. Step 5: Tap on the app you want to pin along with the previously selected app. After some testing, I found Rumi's Concoction to be better for survival vs. I feel like I should get Despair from gloves, and replace Witchfire with a more defensive flask, or maybe a sulphur flask. Since my ring choices are pretty much locked (for now), I needed to get Despair from another source so I went with Witchfire Brew. In my current gear I feel like my overal ES without this talent would be far too low to justify ghost dance. In addition, the high evasion on atziris means +163 ES thanks to Evasion and Energy Shield mastery (+1 ES per 8 Eva on boots). I just need to get some spell suppression on gloves and boots before replacing Atrizi. I feel like there are far more better boots than Atziri's Step. So I just found a random glove and replaced mine. While rampage was so much fun in maps, it just doesn't work all that well in higher content or bossing. I was using Wyrimsign with Despair on hit until recently, together with an Aggressive Bastion annointed amulet. I do feel like this is an issue a lot people have, so I'm not too sure whether being an ES is the issue here.įew things I'm not happy about, or planning to replace and looking for feedback: I'm still getting randomly one shot from time to time, especially with 150+ scourge stacks on red maps. I'm taking considerably less physical damage now, which was a huge issue for me. Got a lucky Watcher's Eye with Phys damage converted to fire, so went with Dying Sun flask to couple those 2. Crafted a non-channeling skills have -7 mana cost to it. I also got pretty lucky and managed to unveil a Shock nearby enemies when focused ring, with T1 accuracy and some all res + life&mana. Very happy with this helm overall, the boss damage is insane when focused. Increased duration of ailments while focused on helm: I got pretty lucky and crafted an amazing helmet + yolo exalted t2 life. Im planning of getting Anomalous Herald of Agony to get withered stacks even faster. as opposed to totem+withered (+Withering steps) I found totems to be way too clunky. Withered comes from Divergent Poisonus Conc. 8 passive large chaos cluster: More damage GMP I have just enough mana + mana on hit/leech that I can comfortably map+boss without going OOM. Since I'm running 4 auras, I'm using a 30% Reservation Efficiency on shield + 60% malevolence efficiency on amulet with Sovereignty annoint, 36% herald efficiency on ring. Running 4 auras Grace (soon to be replaced by Vaal Grace)/Malevolence/Purity of Elements/Herald of Agony I've played PoE in the past but missed some leagues, so i feel like I'm missing some obvious things/QoL improvements so if anyone can provide some feedback to my items/build, please do so!įew things I'm doing different vs. I'm folllowing a hybrid of this guide + nugiyen's eva/es build. I'll leave my original thoughts below as is. Mainly because of lack of cluster jewels, my damage output is lower. So far I'm liking it, but not too sure whether it's so much better than the ES/EVA version. Edit: I swapped to IR version of this build.

Complemented by their golden eyes, the posture affects a very convincing death stare. Shoebills can stand virtually motionless for hours with their bills held down against their necks. You really can’t mistake them for any other bird: They grow 4 to 5 feet tall, have bluish-gray plumage and an 8-plus-foot wingspan, and their bill, which takes up a majority of their face, looks like a huge Dutch wooden clog. Shoebills live in the vast wetlands of the Nile watershed in eastern Africa. Shoebill storks could win staring contests. But there are a lot of misconceptions about shoebill storks-the first being that they're not actually storks. These stately wading birds stalk the marshes of South Sudan, Uganda, and elsewhere in tropical East Africa, snatching up prey with their unique, immediately recognizable bills. That death stare will haunt you in your dreams.Shoebill storks have been called the world’s most terrifying bird (though the cassowary might disagree). But you might not want to look at them too closely. Lungfish, everywhere! Let’s work on appreciating these feathered monsters, and let them do their mud-eating, decapitating thing. Young crocodiles would be everywhere! Eels! Monitor lizards! Our children and grandchildren would be overwhelmed. They crap on their own legs because it keeps them cool. As with other birds, the poop is mostly liquid, and heat from warm blood passing through the legs is used to evaporate the liquid waste, resulting in cooler blood circulating through the stork. The science is fascinating, but when you get right down to it, this already mean-looking bird with a huge, clattering death bill now also has poop legs.īeastly and terrifying though they are, it would be a real shame to have a world without Shoebills. (Why would I even be writing these words if not to lull you into a false sense of terror completion?) Are you ready for it? They crap on their legs. It’s loud and scary and the last sound that lots of poor monitor lizards ever hear.īy now we must have hit all the things that are scary about the Shoebill, you must be saying. Shoebills are silent most of the time but engage in “bill-clattering” around the nest or when greeting another bird. So, anything cool about the bill other than that it’s gigantic, looks like footwear, and can decapitate crocodiles? Sure: It makes awesome machine-gun noises. Arabs reportedly called the bird Abu-Markhub, or “father of a slipper” (just can’t get away from that shoe imagery). They appear in the artwork of the ancient Egyptians. Shoebills have been a beloved species for a long time. Sound terrifying? Yeah, it is. But it’s also impossible not to be impressed by these giants. When there’s nothing but lungfish or crocodile left, the Shoebill will give it a quick decapitation with the sharp edges of the bill (because of course it does) and swallow away. Clamping down on its prey, the bird will start to swing its massive head back and forth, tipping out whatever stuff it doesn’t want to eat. Then the bird will pounce forward, all five feet of it, with its massive bill wide open, engulfing its target along with water, mud, vegetation, and probably any other hapless fish minding their own business. The Shoebill will stand there, motionless as a statue, and wait for some poor lungfish or baby crocodile to swim by. This bird eats crocodiles!Īnd they hunt like total bosses of the swamp. They eat big fish like lungfish, eels, and catfish, and also crazy stuff like Nile monitor lizards, snakes, and baby crocodiles. Shoebills, which live in the swamps of eastern tropical Africa, are after smaller prey. Though I don’t think I’d go anywhere near one, humans don’t have to worry. Or “Death Pelican.” Or “Literally the Most Frightening Bird On Earth.” Of all the possible names, how on earth is it called the Shoebill? “Monsterface” would be better. This is quite a simple review, and there are many aspects of the software that I have yet to use and experiment with. As long as you spend time reading the main points of the user manual first, it doesn’t take long to start using the software, which is a really useful-and indispensable tool that you may wonder how you’ve done without all this time. ConclusionĪll-in-all, Billings 3 is a very powerful, but relatively easy piece of software to use. The accounting software is professional, too, with retainer and tax options galore-but all displayed with ease-of-use in mind. There is also a wealth of information contained in the left sidebar, which amongst other things, shows the balances which are overdue in red. There are many professional templates to choose from, or you can create your own from scratch (with your logo on, etc). Once all working slips on a particular project are complete, you simply create an invoice and send it to a client. For example, if I was working on a project that required internet research, I could create a timer (which handily appears in the Mac menu bar), simply clicking on it like a stop-watch to record how long you’ve spent on a task-and it will be billed accordingly in an invoice. You can easily set-up a timer that corresponds to each working slip on a given project to record how much time you have spent working on it. Screenshot of Billings Copyright of MarketCircle | *By Affiliate. What’s good about this software is that these slips can be timed at a flat fee-or by the minute. Once these simple steps are complete, you are able to start working on a project-keeping track of every minute you spend working on it. From there, you create Working Slips (which are the line-items on an invoice). Once a client is chosen, you simply create a new project, with various other options that are very intuitive to follow. This can be done easily-and your clients can also be imported form the Mac Address Book application. One of the first steps I made when using billings was to set up a client. At first, I didn’t do this and instead just got myself confused when trying to work it out myself-especially regarding the use of Timers (which I will come to later on). Intuitively, I visited the Billings Menu-and clicked on Check for Updates-and within a couple of minutes, the software was updated.īefore proceeding, I would strongly advise that you go to the Help Menu, then read through the Billings 3 Guide. Once installed, which is an easy enough task, my first step was to see if there were any software updates before I used it. The following article is my own review of the software after using it. I guess I’m going to have to find another way to track my time, because even if I can get Billings Pro working again, there’s no way I can trust it with my data.Billings 3 is an excellent billing and invoicing tool, which is solely for Mac OS X 10.4 and higher (now, OS X Lion). So now, time tracking isn’t working at all. I did the duplicate slip trick again, and this time it didn’t work. And it wouldn’t allow me to resume timing. Great! Now I can’t trust the time tracker to do it’s sole job. I looked up from working and the menu bar tracker was black, not red. However, now that 2nd timer stopped on it’s own. This was annoying because I now had 2 separate slips for the same project, which I’d have to merge before invoicing, but I figured it was maybe a one-time quirk. Finally, I duplicated the slip and was able to start timing. I went to start the time and continue tracking my time on the project and… nothing. What a mistake! My data migrated over seamlessly, including a single working slip with a balance of 12 hours on it. I just migrated over from an older version of Billings that worked fine. But who wants to have to remember to log it every time? Diagnostic context logging to the rescue, specifically the mapped diagnostic context. Think about what other detail might be useful – for example, HttpWebRequest details. Know who the user was is the sort of context that is priceless in being able to quickly resolve an issue. When it comes to debugging a production issue, you might have the “Creating a Foo” message thousands of times in your logs, but with no clue who the logged in user was that created it. When you log objects as JSON and use Stackify’s Retrace tool, you can get some nice details like this: Retrace Logging Dashboard JSON Viewer Logging More Details with Diagnostic ContextsĪnd this brings us to one last point on logging more details: diagnostic context logging. Take a look at the following, oversimplified example. You could just put a try / catch around the entire thing and handle the exceptions (which you should) but it doesn’t tell you much about what was passed into the request. Let’s pretend that you have a process that you want to add logging around so that you can look at what happened. Here are our guiding principles on doing that. You want to log as much relevant, contextual data as you can. If you’re tasked with troubleshooting an error in production, and/or it is happening for just one (or a subset) of the application users, this doesn’t leave you with a lot to go on, especially when considering your log statement could be a needle in a haystack in an app with lots of use.Īs I mentioned earlier, logging is often one of the few lifelines you have in production environments where you can’t physically attach and debug. Sometimes, they even do some more proactive logging, like this:īut generally, statements like that don’t go a long way towards letting you know what’s really happening in your app. The exception will likely have a stack trace so I know roughly where it came from, but no other context is logged. I’ll give the developer credit at least they are using a try/catch and handling the exception. I’ve worked in a lot of shops where log messages looked like this: Also, if you haven’t used Prefix to view your logs, be sure to check it out! Start Logging All the Things! In this post, we’ll explore these best practices, and share what we’ve done to address it, much of which has become a part of Stackify’s log management product. Also, to find new ways for our logging and exception data to help us proactively improve our product. Consolidate and aggregate all of our logging to a central location, available to all devs, and easy to distil. Log as much as we possibly can, to always have relevant, contextual logs that don’t add overhead. why can’t this user log in, or why isn’t this record processing?Īt Stackify, we’ve built a “culture of logging” which set out to accomplish these goals: Sure, APM tools can alert you to memory leaks and performance bottlenecks, but generally lack enough detail to help you solve a specific problem, i.e. Once you’re working on an application that is not running on your desktop, logging messages (including exceptions) are usually your only lifeline to quickly discovering why something in your app isn’t working correctly.
Its batch processing feature isn’t as advanced as you’ll find it in other programs, but you’ll be able to convert, rename, resize or watermark photos in bulk. If you’re dealing with multiple images that require the same changes, the tool offers a batch export feature. It’s also useful for professionals, because it offers multi-layer support, curve tools and local adjustments among others. It’s great for beginners, because it comes with numerous features to automatically enhance your photos. Polarr is a mix of both worlds and therefore is designed to address both beginners and professionals. You can find it as an online tool, an app for iPhone and Android, as well as a desktop-based solution for Windows and Mac. Polarr is a photo editing software available on almost all platforms and devices. Hit the OK button and the processing will begin. Next you can select the desired output format, whether to resize or not the pictures and choose which macros to apply from the available panel. Just go to File > New Batch Job and load the photos you wish to edit. The program comes with a series of built-in macros for standard operations, but also lets you create your own, save them and apply them to a batch of images.Īt the same time you can take advantage of the tool’s batch job feature. Macros represent the equivalent of actions in Photoshop. When it comes to applying the same edits to multiple pictures, Affinity Photo offers two useful features: macros and batch jobs. The software comes with an impressive array of retouching and correction tools, brushes, effects and filters to help you create professionally-looking, multi-layered photos. If you’re rather new to editing, it may take a while to learn how to properly use it. Affinity PhotoĪffinity Photo is a complex tool created for advanced image editing. In addition to saving the edited images on your Mac, you can also directly upload them to your FTP account or send them via email. What this does is monitor folders on your Mac, network or website and, every time new images are being added, automatically apply a set of edits which you previously defined. Furthermore, the app comes with a smart Folder Watch option. For instance, you can save your current settings as Profiles and easily use them again later without having to go though the same process. In the same session you can apply special effects like sepia, black and white or oil paint and decorate your pics with vintage frames.īatchPhoto has a couple of additional features designed to boost productivity. You can optimize your photos by resizing, converting, cropping or rotating them, brand them with a logo or text watermark, add a date and time stamp, retouch them by adjusting the brightness, contrast or saturation. What can you do with it? Well, BatchPhoto offers a wide range of edits which you can apply to all your images simultaneously. Basically, it’s conceived as a three-step wizard: you add your photos in the first step, apply the desired edits in the second and select the output format and destination in the third. The app comes with a simple and intuitive interface, which makes it easy to use from the get-go. BatchPhotoīatchPhoto is a tool specially built to batch edit photos on a Mac. Furthermore, it’s not as fast and as effective as using an app particularly designed to handle batch processing. This workaround does help you apply the same adjustments to a group of photos, but it doesn’t include operations like crop and rotate. Last, go to Image > Paste Adjustments and the app will apply all the changes you made to the first picture. Next use your arrow keys to step to the next photos, remaining in Edit mode. With one of the images in Edit mode, apply all the desired edits to it. Then, once you’re done, go to Image > Copy Adjustments. Let’s say you want to improve the overall appearance of your images shot today in the park by adjusting things like brightness, color, sharpness and white balance. Photos is not a batch editor per se, but offers a workaround through the Copy Adjustments tool so you don’t have to edit images one by one. Your Mac comes by default with some useful apps you can put to use to increase productivity, and Photos is definitely one of them. In this article we’ve created a list of 10 Mac apps which you can use to edit multiple photos at once: Photos In this case the optimal solutions is to resort to an app designed to automate those operations and implicitly make your task significantly easier. That would require too much time and energy. If you work constantly with a large number of photos that require the same type of edits, you can’t really go through them one by one. |
